Getting Started with SpringAhead Follow
Is it your first time using SpringAhead or maybe you need a refresher? This article will lead you through all of the basics including how to log into SpringAhead, enter your time and expenses and submit them to your manager for approval.
Logging In
The first step is to make sure you’ve logged into SpringAhead and activated your profile. As a new user, you’ll initially receive a welcome email from your account administrator that will look similar to the image below.
Follow the steps in the welcome email to set up your password and activate your profile.
Entering and Submitting Timecards
Step 1: Click on the Time tab in your navigation bar.
Step 2: Select one of the views in the upper right-hand corner or click directly into a day to begin entering time.
Step 3: Enter all of the relevant information in the time entry. The information you will need to populate may include things like Project, Time Type, Hours, Task and additional Notes. Once complete, click “Save” to save your entry.
Step 4: Once you’ve entered all of your time for the week, submit the time entries by scrolling down and pressing “Submit All”. This will send your timecard to your manager for approval.

Creating and Submitting Expense Reports
Step 1: Click on the Expense tab in your navigation bar.
Step 2: Click “New Expense Report” to create a blank expense report.
Step 3: Enter a name and date range for your report and click “Save” to generate your report.
Step 4: Enter all of the relevant information for each expense in your report. This includes things like Merchant, Expense Type, Payment Method, Amount and so on. Click “Save” to save all of your expenses and their information in the report.
Step 5: Once all of your expenses have been added to the report, click “Submit Now” to send your expense report to your manager for approval.

Using the SpringAhead Mobile App
SpringAhead recently introduced a mobile app that users can use to enter their time while out in the field. You can find the app available for download for Android and Apple devices under the name “SpringAhead Time” in your corresponding app store. Once it’s downloaded, use your same credentials to log into the app and follow the steps below to enter time.
Step 1: Press the orange circle to create a new time entry.
Step 2: Enter in the applicable information for your time entry and click “Save”. This will look just like the web browser version with fields like Project, Time Type, Hours and so on.
Step 3: All of your saved time entries will appear on your mobile home page as “Unsubmitted Time”. To submit your time for approval, navigate back to the web browser version of SpringAhead and follow the usual steps to submit your timecards.
